Anna Petrova

"Grand emotion ... a rich temperament and an outstanding technical ability"
Scherzo Magazine, Spain

Praised for her “artistic, clear and enlightened” performances (BBC Magazine) of “technical brilliance and complete emotional engagement” (Fanfare Magazine), Bulgarian pianist Anna Petrova performs extensively as both soloist and chamber musician around the globe. She has been the recipient of top honors and awards at numerous competitions internationally, including the Queen Elisabeth and Jose Roca Competitions, and has appeared in recital in such revered venues as Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing. Petrova serves as the Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of Louisville and Visiting Professor of Piano and Chamber Music at Musical Arts Madrid in Spain.

“The heart is an ancestral metaphor: throughout human history, it has been thought of as a thing of paramount value, representing both literally and figuratively the core of a person; their essence. Slavic Heart is one of the most personal projects I have brought into this world. It is autobiographical and represents my journey both as a musician and person. “ – Anna Petrova

"The recording is superb, a marvelous showcase for Petrova’s splendid pianism and artistry."
